  • Does the inspector have the knowledge and experience to thoroughly inspect the home and make a determination of potential problems?

Over the years, we have seen many strange things take place in this realm of the pest control industry.  They range from the simple lack of experience mistake to out and out fraud.  Either one can amount to many thousands of dollars.  A few of them are as follows:  

  1. Mistaking leftover sawdust and woodchips from home construction for Carpenter Ant infestation
  2. Missing the fact that a structure had been previously treated and requiring another termite treatment, even though there was no active infestation
  3. Under pricing the competitor by hundreds of dollars and then not performing a thorough treatment
  4. Pumping liquid into trenches, hollow block, and drill holes with little or no active termiticide
  5. Mistake inactive Powderpost Beetle
  6. Release live termites within the structure in order to make a sale
  7. Mistaking inactive termite activity for active.  This is a very common practice.  Some of it is due to inexperience,  some is designed to make the sale.  Many times a highly trained inspector can tell how old an infestation is
